The Signed Prints series are some of my favorite paintings from the last few years, hand-numbered and signed by myself.
"Most of my major artistic influences are comic book artists, with Van Gogh as one of handful of exceptions. This one is obviously based on John Russels portrait of Van Gogh, with me trying to somehow add something of his self portraits in there. Van Gogh had resisted getting photographed all his life, so trying to catch him in a more photo-like style somehow feels a bit blasphemous."
